The annual breakfast fundraiser helps support scholarships for SSP graduates who are in the first four semesters of their college education. SSP is an outreach program of the Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies department that helps low-income parents prepare to be successful college students.
2001 Self-Sufficiency Program graduate Dr. Alisha Amann was this year
The fundraiser helps support scholarships for SSP, a program that helps low-income parents prepare to be successful college students.
“When you give to the Self-Sufficiency Program’s Locally Grown Scholarship, you pay it forward, because these nine scholarship recipients will do the same with their education and their future contributions to the community as a whole,” said Self-Sufficiency Program Director Amy Sullivan at the annual breakfast fundraiser Oct. 12 in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center.

This year’s keynote speaker was Dr. Alisha Amann. She graduated from UW-L in 2005 with majors in biology and biomedical science. She is currently in her second year of residency at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City,nfl sports jerseys, Mo., where she is specializing in Family Medicine. |
