Indonesia, meanwhile, has risen over 45 per cent in local currency terms this year, making it the best performer among major markets in Asia. In spite of the boost delivered by upbeat US consumer sentiment data last week, it is the strength of Asia’s economic fortunes versus the more pallid performance of developed markets that has attracted foreign investors and driven the region’s bourses higher since they hit a trough in March 2009. The weak dollar has added to - and partly reflected - the appeal of Asian equities,nfl sales, even as some of the region’s governments stoke controversy by intervening in the markets to limit the appreciation of their own currencies.
